AVOID CONDENSATION
• Have the camera and housing regulated to the outside temperature before sealing up the housing. This means no hanging out in the AC of your hotel room or car while checking the waves and getting your gear put together.
• If you’re still having problems, try to control moisture buildup by soaking it up with an object inside the housing. Try Silica gel desiccant packets - keep some in a plastic Ziploc bag, and throw a couple in your housing before use. If you are in a bind, use a crumpled up ball of tin foil, or a tampon.
AVOID WET SPOTS ON YOUR IMAGES
• Preventing water drops from getting on your port is a major factor in getting high quality images from your camera housing. To avoid water droplets forming on your port, use saliva, and periodically dunk it under the water so that the port is constantly covered with a layer of water. This is called a “wet port”, and is best used when shooting with wide-angle lenses, such as a 10-22 or a fisheye, or in most situations shooting video.
